Benjamin Wright
Award
The
Benjamin Wright Award is given annually by the Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers Section to a Connecticut Civil Engineer who has demonstrated outstanding practice
throughout his or her career, and made significant contributions to Civil
Engineering. CSCE is proud to present the 2011 Benjamin Wright Award to George Torello, Jr., P.E.

Mr. Torello has over 40 years of experience in
the design, review, and inspection of buildings. A recognized leader and
educator, George has been involved in the investigation of some of the largest
building failures in this country. His extensive background in the analysis of
why buildings have failed is of critical importance in the design of new
structures and the evaluation and restoration of existing facilities. George's
firm and George personally has been involved with educational seminars for
nearly thirty years now and has been a tremendous resource for the engineering
community including engineers, building officials, architects, home inspectors,
fire marshals and contractors.
