Topic:Update on the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor
Improvement Program
and UNH Student Chapter activities
This
Program is one of the largest transportation improvement initiatives ever
undertaken by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (ConnDOT). The
Program includes operational, safety, and capacity improvements to 7.2 miles of
I-95, construction of a new signature, ten-lane bridge, and transit
enhancements including a new Shore Line East commuter rail station at State Street in New Haven. Program limits extend from Sargent/Long Wharf Drive (Interchange 46) in New Haven to Cedar Street (Interchange 54) in Branford. The Program was
initiated in 2000 with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new State Street
Commuter Rail Station. Highway improvements are scheduled for completion in
2016.
